It’s a fundamental part of life and has been linked to more joy, laughter, fun, aerobic health, and even brain power! It’s what people naturally do. We like to do it together.

It’s the second most common command in the Bible: To SING!

This is your invitation to step out of the shower, car or wherever you secretly belt out your show tunes and rock ballads, and join us.

The Summit Choral Society promotes singing by hosting weekly rehearsals, (with a hiatus following each concert), in a friendly, nonjudgmental setting. No auditions to join, and extra help is available if you’re a bit rusty or are a never-ever choir person.

I joined the Summit Choral Society with no choral experience since church choir in high school. Everyone was very accepting and helpful, building my confidence in sight reading and in my voice. This group is not only great fun, but a musical education.

Here are the particulars:

Who: The Summit Choral Society, a community choir for Summit County and surrounding areas.

What: We rehearse and perform a wide variety of choral music, presented at three major concerts each year.

When: Monday evenings, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Where: Christ Lutheran Church, across from Summit High School at 16072 Highway 9, Breckenridge, CO

All are welcome, even if you are a part-time resident!

Also:

We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the 2025 National Memorial Day Choral Festival in Washington, DC, May 23-26, 2025. As part of this Festival, we will perform at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and sing in the Opening Ceremony of the National Memorial Day Parade!

Becoming a Member

You are welcome to sit in on any rehearsal. When you decide to join the Summit Choral Society (which we hope you will), follow these steps:

Speak with the MEMBERSHIP chairperson. S/he will have a form and a release for you to complete.
The cost to join is minimal: you may sign up for a single concert season ($40) or for an entire year ($100).
All new members must provide a music deposit of $30. Our music materials are not free and we must ensure their return at the conclusion of a concert. This is a refundable amount, should you find it necessary to end your membership.
